‘T2: Trainspotting’ New Trailer

Choose life. Choose Facebook. Choose Twitter and Instagram. Choose taking a minute and fifty five seconds to watch the new trailer for for T2: Trainspotting, the highly anticipated follow-up to Danny Boyle and Irvine Welsh’s infamous 1996 classic.

The trailer reunites Renton (Ewan McGregor), Spud (Ewan Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller) and a just-as-psychotic Begbie (Robert Carlyle) twenty years after we left them in the original Trainspotting.

As we can see from the trailer, the rumours were indeed true about Kelly Macdonald making a return too as Renton’s sharp-witted maybe-soulmate Diane.

For those of you old enough to remember seeing the original when it came out, T2: Trainspotting will be a cold stab of nostalgia, as the original film’s narcotic-seeped logic is very much back in full force.

The official synopsis reads: “Mark Renton returns to the only place he can ever call home. They are waiting for him: Spud, Sick Boy, and Begbie. Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.”

Catch the original gang again when T2: Trainspotting comes to cinemas on 27 January, 2017.

The new trailer also references the ending of the first film, in which Renton steals 16,000 from the drug deal that was supposed to be split among the gang.
