Podcast: ‘The Revenant’ Review

Unlike Birdman last year, Alejandro Iñárritu has given us a harrowing tale of survival, the strength and determination of the human spirit, and overall a beautifully made film with some brilliant performances. The Revenant follows the story of Hugh Glass, a fur trapper making his living in the volatile American frontier in the 1820’s who is mauled horribly by a bear and left for dead by those meant to be watching over him and his son. In our latest podcast, we discuss The Revenant‘s appeal to a wider audience as well as the quality of filmmaking itself, as Iñárritu has once again produced a beautiful film that is also grueling in its intensity and subject matter.
